The History
Christmas City began in 1983 by Ron Meyers at Rice Pavilion in Gulfport with a little more than 35 booths. It quickly outgrew its home, and moved to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum Convention Center in Biloxi, Mississippi. Ron has produced Christmas City in New Orleans, Hattiesburg, MS, Mobile, AL and Pensacola Florida. But it was Biloxi that drew the large crowds, so in 1997 all Ron’s energy goes into this once a year spectacular event!
The Show
Christmas City is so much more than handcrafted arts and crafts by the most skilled artists in the region. You'll marvel at aisle after aisle of gift ideas, home decor, jewelry and accessories, scrapbooking supplies, handmade heirlooms, fashions for children and adults, framed art, fragrances, kitchenware...Click on the List of Vendors (left) for a complete look at all our offerings. The 2-day event draws thousands of visitors to the newly expanded Coast Coliseum Convention Center. Vendors for the show sign up months in advance for a spot to showcase their gifts, foods and art. With the anticipation of a “Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting” at its new location, the show is expected to be a complete sellout. Now in its 29th year, Christmas City Gift Show’s 350 booths will be spread over an 88,000 sq. ft. area. Shoppers will appreciate the variety of vendors, concessions, a Christmas movie area, and plenty of activities for the children, live choirs, and this year workshops consisting of gift wrapping, scrapbooking, making wreaths and bows, as well as setting a Christmas table. Photos with Santa and/or Scrooge (sponsored by Quota International) will also be available.
Selected as Top 20 Tourism Event in the Southeast!
Because of Christmas City’s uniqueness and estimated half-million dollar economic impact to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in 2011 it was recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as a top twenty tourism event!
But Wait! There's More
In the North Pole Children will enjoy a variety of activities, have their faces painted, even have their pictures made by Santa himself! There will be several cafes available, so you can enjoy a meal while you take a break. Christmas movies will be played throughout the day, a giant inflatable play land, free craft making for the children and some special costume characters strolling through the show.
NEW FOR 2011! Festival of Trees
